The School Day

Breakfast Club

Our Earlybirds Breakfast Club is open every day from 8.00 am to 8.40 am. If you need to use this service, just a day's notice is all you need to give so that we can ensure that there is adequate staffing.  The children who attend the Club have a great time, hanging out with their friends, undertaking arts and crafts and playing with various educational toys.  You can deliver your children to school at any time throughout the club; there's no need for them to attend for the whole session if you don't want them to. Breakfast is optional but we do need to know in advance if it is required. Our breakfast menu offers a choice of cereals, toast, fruit juice or milk.  The charge for the club is £2.00 per child. If they wish to have breakfast it is an additional £1 per child.  Please contact Jane via the school office if you would like to book your child/ren into the Breakfast Club.

The School Day

Our School week runs over 32.5 hours (excluding Breakfast Club and after-School clubs).  The school gates open at 8.40am and the children are allowed to come into their classrooms ready for Registration at 8.50 am.  During the morning we have two short breaks depending on the Key Stage. They are as follows:

Key stage 1 - 15 minutes break at 9.55am and another 15 minutes break at 11.15am.

Key Stage 2 - 15 minutes break at 10.05am and, at the teachers discretion, another break at 11.15am for 15 minutes.

Children can bring tuck to eat at this time, preferably fruit or a healthy snack. Fruit is provided free for the children in Treen & Mousehole Classes.

The children will have an hour for lunch, with Key Stage 1 having their lunch at 12.15pm and Key Stage 2 starting their lunch at 12.30pm.  All children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Y1 & Y2) are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals and we would encourage all parents to take up this offer.  In Key Stage 2 (Y3, Y4, Y5 & Y6) children can either bring a packed lunch or have a school meal, which is cooked on the premises. Meals currently cost £2.41/day but if you think your circumstances may entitle you to free meals please make an application on the Council's website.  The latest menu can be viewed under the Parents tab.

The afternoon session finishes at 3.20pm. The children may have an afternoon break, but that is at the teacher's discretion.

Child Absence

If your child is absent please telephone by 9.00 am to let us know the reason. If we do not receive a call from you, the school secretary will attempt to contact you.  If no reason is given, the absence will automatically be classed as unauthorised. For planned absences, and leave in term time, please write in advance and complete a leave of absence form which is available from the office.

Parking - Please park outside the school grounds at all times to avoid congestion in the front playground.  The car park is for staff and disabled use only.

Smoking - The school operates a no smoking policy in both its buildings and grounds.

PE  - Currently, P.E days are as follows -

Treen - Friday, Mousehole - Tuesday, Fistral - Monday, Godrevy - Thursday

Children should come to school on that day wearing their kit: black tracksuit bottoms, white T-shirt and either their school sweatshirt, hoody or fleece.

Children should not bring expensive personal items into school as we cannot be responsible for loss or damage. We discourage 'swapping' things and ask that children only do so outside school after consultation with their parents.
